Description
Peppermint is an aromatic upright herbaceous perennial commonly planted as a culinary or medicinal herb. Recognized by its toothed leaves and square stems with terminal spikes holding pink flowers in summer. Does well in sun or shade, light soil with adequate drainage. Harvest frequently to encourage full shape and enjoy the benefits all season.
Medicinally, peppermint is known to cool both the body and the mind. Try it in a tea or in your glass of water to ease the spirit and add extra benefit to your hydration. Peppermint is used in aromatherapy, as inhaling it may help soothe headaches and pain caused by inflammation. Peppermint is also a wonderful addition to the kitchen, savory or sweet.
