Glowing Embers Japanese Maple is a deciduous tree with a dense rounded crown and intense fall color.  The large, deeply palmate, bright green foliage turns a kaleidoscope of shades from yellow, bright orange, reds and even purples until it settle to fiery red in fall.  Insignificant flowers. Grows best in rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils. Prefers full sun in cooler climates, but needs afternoon shade in southern areas. Glowing Embers is one of the variety with good sun tolerance in the South, and is drought and heat resistant.
